| How to Bring Life Givers to Your Community |
|
It is incredible what ONE person can do for a community. I’m sure you know some stories. It is and should be no different for people who are dealing with life-threatening, life-altering illnesses. The first and most critical element is Believing! Start exploring things that will build your faith and then start doing those things on a regular basis – best daily! Once you have looked through our site, sign-up for our newsletter, get on some of our information calls, speak to someone who has been involved with us for some time, and then let us know of your interest in reaching your community. An old friend used to say to me, “You are committed to what you confess.” How true it is. If you begin telling other people, “this is what I intend to do…” then they are going to be wondering and watching you are up to. It holds us accountable. Read our page on “Reaching Your Community” under the heading, Getting Involved. After doing that, you can consider one or more of the following: Tell others about our site Tell people to sign-up for our newsletter Read a book a week yourself for a while to understand how important this kind of intervention can be (see our suggested reading list – being worked on as of March 10, 2009) Tell others to read – we’re a society that reads very little Talk to others about what you read Find someone who is fighting for their life, and choose to “walk with them”, listening to what they say, helping them to enjoy life NOW Begin a small group, maybe 3 to 5, to share, encourage, and pray for one another Think about beginning a group in your church or community Think about hosting a seminar for your community |
