LIFE is the best teacher! And we have had plenty of that. If you have read our “history” page, then you know that my experience with a family whose 5 year old son was dying was my “indoctrination” into the world of life-threatening illness. Never, in all my life, would I have pictured myself working side-by-side with health care professionals who were working with individuals and their families confronted with serious illness. The experiences which have helped to shape this ministry are as follows: Having numerous family members deal with cancer Helping families as a student pastor Counseling numerous families while running a phone counseling center Helping families while serving as a Care Pastor of an inner city church Being called to begin a ministry to provide spiritual and emotional support to both patients and those who were caring for them Being mentored by a world renowned research psychologist who by now has close to 60 years of experience helping cancer patients Working in an oncology office, helping support and encourage patients Developing a video series to be used by churches to support patients Starting church and community based group to support patients and their families Teaching seminars in churches, community settings, military bases, and hospitals to help patients, their care givers, and health care workers Being the husband, father, son, son-in-law, pastor, counselor, and friend of countless numbers of patients and their families Being the founder of a WEB based outreach to “sow Hope…nurture Life… and provide ongoing Encouragement” to persons with life-threatening, life altering illnesses As we further develop this site, there will be pages describing in more detail
the experiences I have outlined above. I am sure that your life probably
